  • Responsibilities

    Successful candidates for this position will perform research and support functions for members of the Organization of Black Screenwriters Board members. Chosen candidates will work on supporting the three major initiatives designed to move the organization from volunteer based t​o a full-time staffed advocacy group. Research (online and off), administrative support (note taking and phone calls), site visits, recruiting additional campus staff. You'll be supporting board members that are executives in the non-profit, tech, medical, entertainment, media, and legal fields to name a few.

  • Qualifications

    Required skills: strong business grammar and writing; social media savvy; outgoing personality; interest in increasing diversity in film, television, multimedia; highly organized; able to complete tasks with minimal supervision; self-motivated. familiarity with HBCUs. A desire to pursue a career in media or entertainment a plus, but not required. Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, Film, Mass Media, and Social Science majors encouraged to apply.

    Internet and mobile phone compentency; business writing and grammar; bilingual welcomed

  • Compensation
    The summer internship position will require less than 20 hours per month and is not a paid position. However, successful candidates will have first-right-of-refusal for Campus Representative positions for the fall and spring semesters. Compensation will depend on the size of the campus and attendance at events but will likely exceed $1200 per month for 10 to 20 hours work on Thursdays thru Sundays.
